Hazel (Schroeder) James

Ms. Hazel James, age 103, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 25th, 2021 at 8:22 PM at the Greenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 29th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Franklin Presbyterian Church, 201 North College Street, Franklin, KY.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. .  ***Her funeral service will be livestreamed on the Franklin Presbyterian Church Facebook page and YouTube.***

Hazel was born on May 10, 1917 in Harlan County, KY to the late William Augustus Schroeder and the late Bettie Cawood Schroeder.  She is also preceded in death by 13 siblings.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Betty Grammer (Gary) of Alvaton, KY; 3 grandchildren, Melissa Galloway of Georgetown, KY, Christy Grammer of Bowling Green, KY and Monica Bean (Michael) of Bowling Green, KY; 3 great-grandchildren, Joseph Galloway of Lexington, KY, Madeline Bean of Bowling Green, KY and Matthew Bean of Bowling Green, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Hazel was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church in Franklin, KY.  She was the oldest member in her church.  Hazel attended Central Beauty College in Louisville, KY and after graduation she worked as a hairdresser for 85 years.  She cared for her clients very much.
