Harry Glen Hughes

November 15, 1925 — April 6, 2010

Mr. Harry Glen Hughes, age 84, of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 3:20 A.M. at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.



A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Lee Roy Hughes, Sr. and the late Bera Walker Hughes. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Anne “Pan” Hughes.



He is survived by 3 sons: Brad Hughes and wife Judy of Louisville, KY., Bill Hughes and wife Nancy of Albuquerque, NM and David Hughes and wife Regina of Scottsville, KY.; a daughter Anne Hughes Mann and husband Randy of Franklin, KY.; a brother Lee Roy Hughes, Jr. and wife Mary of Franklin, KY.; 6 grandchildren: Taylor Hughes, Patrick Hughes, Rachel Hughes, Bethany Hughes, Katie Mann and Alex Mann and several nieces and nephews.



Mr. Hughes was a retired farmer and a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church. He attended the University of Kentucky and was a 1948 graduate of Western Kentucky State Teachers College, a former buyer for Southwestern Tobacco Co. and former employee of Hughes Hardware. He served 30+ years as stadium announcer for the Franklin-Simpson football games and was a retired Rotarian.
