Harold Dean Pearson

Mr. Harold Dean Pearson, age 86, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held the same day, Sunday, September 29th at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY with military rites performed by the Simpson County Honor Guard. 

Harold was born on August 2, 1938 in Portland, TN to the late Earl Pearson and the late Winnie England Pearson. He is also preceded in death by two siblings, Joyce Williams and James Earl Pearson.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Pearson of Franklin, KY; two sons, Troy Pearson of Franklin, KY and David Pearson (Allison) of Bowling Green, KY; two grandchildren, Reese Pearson and Gray Pearson; 1 sister, Wanda Barrow of Portland, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Harold always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He never met a stranger. After graduating from Portland High School, Harold joined the Portland Masonic Lodge in 1959. He was then drafted into the United States Army in 1961 where he served in the 3rd Infantry Division in Heilbronn, Germany. Harold worked at Potter and Brumfield for 37 years. He was proud of his sons, Troy and David while being married to Joan for 64 years. He always enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, Reese and Gray. Harold was a member of Sulphur Spring Baptist Church, while a member he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school with his wife, Joan. Harold was a loyal Tennessee Vol's fan. He enjoyed cheering on the football team as well as the lady's basketball team. Harold was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
