G.W. Dillard

Mr. G.W. Dillard, age 94 of Franklin, KY. entered into rest Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:45 PM at the Franklin-Simpson Nursing and Rehab Center in Franklin,  KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2015 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY., with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard.

A native of Macon Co., TN., he was the son of the late Lonnie Elbert Dillard and Pearl Frances Dillard.  He was the husband of the late Betty Lou Draper Dillard and preceded in death by 2 brothers Donnie and James “Billy” Dillard and 5 other brothers and sisters.

He is survived by 2 daughters Lou Ann Burgett (Ronald) of Franklin, KY. and Doris James Gibbs (Freddie) of Scottsville, KY., a sister Virginia Hyde of Franklin, KY., 1 grandson Will Hayden Burgett and 2 step grandchildren Stephanie Marie and James Edward Burgett, 6 nieces and 6 nephews.

Mr. Dillard was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and American Legion Post #62. He was a WWII Army Veteran in the 44th Tank Battalion and retired from Lenk/Drackett Company.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2015 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time Saturday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
