Grace Maxine Moore

September 6, 1925 — December 11, 2011

Mrs. Grace Maxine Moore, age 86 of Altoona, KS formerly of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Sunday, December 11, 2011 at her residence.

Born in Nashville, TN. on Sept. 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Orline Snider. She was the wife of the late Jack Edward Meyerhofer and the late Hal Moore. She was preceded in death by a son Lawrence E. Meyerhofer.

She is survived by a daughter Joan Haney (Travis) of Altoona, KS., a son Robert A. Meyerhofer of CA., 3 grandchildren Diane Santamorna, Debra D. Intravaia (Robert) and Tammy L. Steffey, 5 great grandchildren Trista, Marina and Tanner Intravaia and Ian and Davin Stewart.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the St. Mary's of the Woods Catholic Church, a life member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International for over 38 years, WKU alumni Association, National Women's Press Association and graduate of of Franklin Leadership class. Mrs. Moore raised horses for a number of years and went back to school to become a policewoman for the Ventura, CA. Department and the Scottsdale, AZ. Department for a number of years. After moving back to Franklin, KY. to care for her father she graduated Western Kentucky University with a degree in photo journalism. She has worked for many newspapers throughout the country and retired about 12 years ago. She was involved in many community organizations and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The last few months she lived with her daughter exploring Kansas until recently. She had met many friends and experienced many things and always dressed and presented her self as a true lady. She was a lover of Burmese and Siamese cats and the Family will miss her.
