Glinda Gail Whitaker

Mrs. Glinda Brown Whitaker, age 71, of Franklin, KY, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024 at 1:17 AM at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18th, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 6:00 AM until service time on Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 19th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Glinda was born on March 5th, 1953 in Franklin, KY to the late Robert Lee Brown and the late Rebecca (Walker) Brown.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike Whitaker, a daughter, Marla Faye DeArmond (Sam) of Franklin, KY; 2 grandchildren, Kelsey Brandle (Zach) and Dylan Collier; 2 great grandchildren, Sloane Brandle and Palmer Brandle; 5 siblings, Edward Brown (Beverly) of Franklin, KY, Joann Brown of Bowling Green, KY, Mary Thrush of Woodburn, KY, Robert Brown of Franklin, KY, Larry Brown (Judy) of Franklin, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Glinda loved the Lord, she was a member of the West Madison Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and youth leader. She enjoyed mission trips to Honduras, word search puzzles, birds, working in the garden, watching westerns and loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
