Frank Lotus Steele, Jr.

Mr. Frank Lotus Steele, Jr., age 81, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest on Friday, June 19th, 2020 at 6:06 AM at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue Wednesday, June 24th 2020 from 6:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 24th 2020, at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Frank was born on December 13, 1938 in Bowling Green, KY to his late parents, Frank Lotus Steele Sr. and Paula Jeanette Morris Steele. He was also preceded in death by a son, Mitch Steele.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 33 years, Louise Steele; a son, Kevin Steele, of Bowling Green, KY; a daughter, Sandy King (Dewayne) of Scottsville, KY; a step-daughter Kim Mayes (Cannon) of Nolensville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Heather Herrington, Amber Steele, Holly Phelps, Ashley Painter, Grady Spence; 3 great-grandchildren, Carter Herrington, Clayton Head, Broady Phelps; 5 siblings, Don Steele (Nancy), Gary Steele (Pat), Roger Steele (Mary), Georgia Guthrie (Jim), Tommy Steele (Debbie); and several nieces and nephews.

Frank attended the Franklin First United Methodist Church.  He was a mason and belonged to the New Roe Lodge #592.  Frank was a M.P. for the U.S. Army and he was retired from Siemens as a tool and dye maker for many years.  He loved being outdoors, fishing and camping.  Frank was very talented at putting together coo-coo clocks and a handy man to many.
