A former Franklin, KY., resident Mrs. Frances Pennington Deasy, age 90 of Springfield, IL., entered into rest Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Oak Terrace Nursing Facility in Springfield, IL.
Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
The Simpson Co., KY. native was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Lake Spring Baptist Church for several years before she married. After she and her husband were married they moved their membership to Providence Baptist Church. During her years at Providence she had taught an adult ladies Sunday school class, young people classes, sang in the choir, an active WMU member, worked in Bible School at Providence and lead some leadership conferences in county. She had worked with 4-H local club and did some work on the county level.
She was the daughter of the late Bennie Pennington and the late Mary Hall Pennington. She was the wife of the late Wilbern Deasy.
She is survived by her son Rev. Jeff Deasy (Kathy) of Chatham, IL, granddaughter Jackie Bullman (Brian), a grandson Justin Deasy(Holly), great grandsons Kyle Michael Bullman, Brandon Alan Deasy, Dylan Parker Deasy, and a great granddaughter, Amelia Marie Bullman, a nephew Steve Deasy, a great nephew Ben Deasy and one niece Margaret King.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Wednesday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Frances to Lewis Memorial Personal Care Home in Franklin, KY.
