Everett Ray Hopkins

Mr. Everett Ray Hopkins, age 83, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11:34 AM at his residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 3rd, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue July 4th 2020 from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 4th, 2020 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.

Everett was born June 3, 1937 in Louisville, KY to the late Everett Neal Hopkins and the late Dorothy Mae York Hopkins. He is also preceded in death by his brother Billy Joe Hopkins and his sister, Joyce Gaines.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Hopkins, of Franklin, KY, Sons, Ricky Hines (Janet), of Franklin, KY,  Jeff Hines (Rachael) of Portland, TN, and a daughter, Sherry Sullivan, of Franklin, KY, two sisters, Donna Close and Gayle Shamrog, and brother, Timmy Hopkins.

Everett was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, and was a volunteer for the Auburn Fire Department for several years. Everett loved driving around his old 1948 Ford truck, and had a love for gardening and fishing.
