Ernest Holder Parker III

Mr. Ernest Holder (Ernie) Parker, III age 86 of Franklin, KY. formerly of Hendersonville, TN. entered into rest Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home.  Mr. Parker wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Lake Spring Baptist Church in Simpson Co., KY.

Mr. Parker was born November 4, 1930 in Nashville, TN. he was son of the late Ernest Holder Parker, Jr. and the late Thelma Coleman Parker.  His son Charles K. Parker preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Betty Chisholm Parker, 2 children James Louis Parker of Atlanta, GA. And Lisa Ann Sheffield of Tallahassee, FL., 2 stepchildren Barry Freas (Linda) of Franklin, KY., and Melinda Wester (Stuart) of Lexington, KY., 4 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

Mr. Parker was a member of the Lake Springs Baptist Church.  He was an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean conflict, an avid boater since 1954, he was a former member of the Cumberland Old Hickory Yacht Club serving 6 years on the board of directors. He had several careers in finance, insurance claims and sales of construction equipment.
