Dr. Richard Lewis Towe

Dr. Richard Lewis Towe, age 80, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 804 Church Street in Franklin, KY. Funeral services will also be held on Saturday, March 1st at 2:00 PM at the church with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin, KY.

Dr. Towe was born on October 30, 1944 in Glasgow, KY to the late Edward Jackson “Jack” Towe and the late Marjorie Catherine (Simmons) Towe. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Suzanne (Taylor) Towe; a granddaughter, Olivia Sue; two siblings, Jacqueline Towe Smith and Tommy Towe; and a son-in-law, Douglas Bowers McGregor.

He is survived by three children, Andrea McGregor of Kansas City, KS, Charles Towe (Kristin) of Charleston, SC and Todd Towe (Jessica) of Franklin, KY; seven grandchildren, Grayson, Anna, Jack, Zane, Blaize, Swayzee and Patrick; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dr. Towe was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a 1962 graduate of Allen County High School. After high school, he attended and graduated from Western Kentucky University and then furthered his education at the Louisville School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate Degree. Dr. Towe founded Towe Dentistry in Franklin, KY where he served the community for many years. He enjoyed horses and traveling to horse shows with his family, hunting, fishing, and a round of golf. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Dr. Towe’s memory to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
