Doug Short

Mr. Doug Short, age 66, of Franklin, KY passed away on December 23rd, 2021 at 10:10 AM at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27th, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 28th from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

Doug was born on February 2, 1955 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late, Franklin D. R. Short and the late Ruth Aleen (Rush) Short.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lynne Short and a sister, Jenny Short.

He is survived by 4 children, Paul Short of Brownsville, KY, Joani Hester (Caleb) of Russellville, KY, Darshell Short of Franklin, KY and John Carnahan (Liz) of Lewisburg, KY; 9 grandchildren, Levi, Adairlyn, Ayden, Ahvyana, Aliyah, Gavin, Hollis, JJ and Marie; 5 siblings, James Short of Franklin, KY, Mickey Short of Franklin, KY, Iva Roach of Franklin, KY, Ricky Short of Elkton, KY and Wayne Miller of Logan Co, KY; a special friend, Hattie Hines of Franklin, KY.

Doug was a farmhand before retirement.  He enjoyed camping and fishing.  Doug liked to work with wood and refinish cars.  He looked forward to family time especially with his grandkids.
