Don Clark Rowland

Mr. Don Clark Rowland, age 82, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at 4:16 PM at the Medical Center at Franklin.

His wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13th, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Don was born on March 7th, 1940 in Franklin, KY to the late Thomas Wilson Rowland and the late Ethel Naomi (Dorris) Rowland. He is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Rowland.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sue Ruley Rowland of Franklin, KY; 3 children, Donna Sue Cherry of Franklin, KY, John Clark Rowland (Ayme) of Bowling Green, KY, and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick (Travis) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren, Preston Rowland, Derek Hines, Maura Sewell, Madalene Shofner, and Jaxson Rowland; and 3 sisters, Diane Rowland of MS, Margie Scortino of AL, and Judy Ford of TN.

Don was a lifetime member of Salmons General Baptist Church, a 1958 class-graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School, and a retired laborer of Weyerhaeuser for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing softball, basketball, spending time with his family, and watching his grandchildren’s sports events.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Salmons General Baptist Church, 4223 Bowling Green Rd, Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
