David Wingo

Mr. Robert David Wingo, age 77, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Monday, November 1st, 2021 at 6:54 AM at The Medical Center in Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 5th, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 6th, from 6:00 AM until 9:00 AM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, the body will lie in state at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church from 10:00 am until funeral service time. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6th 2021, at 11:00 AM at the church at 2504 Sulphur Spring Church Rd Franklin, KY 42134, with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

David was born August 21st, 1944 in Simpson County, KY to the late Robert Wesley Wingo and the late Edna Finn Wingo. He is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sydney Majewski.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Ann Wingo; 3 children, Charles Wesley Wingo (Bonnie) of Washington, DC, Jane Hope Reed (Kevin) of Central City, KY, Kathryn Page Majewski (Gregg) of Hoffman Estates, IL; 5 grandchildren, Ryan Majewski, Clark Majewski, Sam Reed, Clay Reed, Charles Russell Wingo II ; a brother, Jack Russell “Jackie” Wingo of Ocala, FL, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was a member of the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture. He was a retired farmer and also retired from the Kendall Company.
