Daniel Watkins

Mr. Daniel Watkins, age 33, of Franklin, KY, passed away Monday, June 8th, 2020, at 4:28 PM in Butler County, KY.

Visitation will be Friday, June 12th, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, June 13th, 2020 from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gilbert Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery on Schweizer Road in Simpson County.

Daniel was born on March 19th, 1987 in Bowling Green, KY to Ricky and Tammy Watkins of Franklin, KY, whom survive.  He is also survived by a daughter; 2 Sisters, Tammy Ren’e Watkins of Franklin, KY and Lana Watkins Gregory of Franklin, KY; paternal grandfather, Jerry Watkins of Franklin, KY; step-grandfather, Douglas Nealy of Franklin, KY; 3 nieces, Ella Belcher, Tia Belcher and Tatum Gregory; 2 uncles, Randy Watkins of Glasgow, KY and Junior Lack of Franklin, KY; 1 aunt, Kathy Coleman of Franklin, KY; girlfriend, Sarah Pippin of Bowling Green, KY.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Wyley Watkins; maternal grandparents, Anna Lack Nealy and James Edward Lack; paternal grandmother, Lois Jane Graves; step grandmother, Minnie Lee Watkins.

Daniel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  He was a welder that did odd jobs for farmers.  Daniel loved hunting, fishing, collecting old coins, working on old cars and running cars in the derby.
