Curtis Floyd Mott, Sr.

Mr. Curtis F. Mott Sr., age 85, of Orlinda, TN, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12th, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Curt was born June 6, 1938 in Sparta, TN to the late Robert Floyd Mott and the late Pauline (Jones) Mott. He was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Joseph MacArthur "Mac" Mott and Deborah Jane Mott Brickles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Nancy (Douglas) Mott, 3 children, Lanan Groves (Jimmy Swindle) of Orlinda, TN, Curtis Mott Jr. (Jane) of Orlinda, TN and Marileigh Stephens (Kevin) of Cross Plains, TN; 6 grandchildren, T.C. Groves (Emily), Ashleigh Groves, Curtis Mott III (Farran), Caitlyn Jernigan (Jake), Kaleb Stephens (Abby) and Savannah Pridgen (Luke); 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Bobbielene Daniels of Cross Plains, TN.

Curt was a member of the Orlinda Church of Christ. He began his work career as an electrician with DuPont. In later years, he was a commodity broker with EF Hutton and later JC Bradford. He was also a farmer until his retirement.
