Charles Thurmond Hollars

Mr. Charles Thurmond Hollars age 83, of Bowling Green, KY., entered into rest Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 12:30 PM at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral arrangements are under the Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Hollars was born December 13, 1932 to the late Walter Raymond Hollars and the late Mary Elizabeth Russell Hollars. He was the husband of the late Helen Florence Halliburton Hollars.  He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Earl Hollars and a grandson Charles James Hollars.

He is survived by 4 children James H. Hollars of Bowling Green, Ky., Kathy Rhea (David), Teresa Holman and Sondra Ferguson all of Franklin, KY., 2 brothers Miles Henry Hollars (Ginny) of Franklin, KY. and Walter Raymond Hollars, Jr. (Helen) of Lafayette, TN., 5 sisters Brownie Anderson, Virginia Nichols, Tina Ellis and Hassie Hollars all of Franklin, KY. and Edessa Howlett (Larry) of Bowling Green, KY., 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hollars was a retired farmer.  He enjoyed watching his grandkids playing baseball and softball and the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016 and from 6:00 AM. until funeral service time on Wednesday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
