Mr. Charles Owen Evans, age 90 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 5:00  PM at Christian Health Care in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church with burial in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.  Military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Clarence Elmer Evans and the late Sue Emily Richards Evans.  He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Elizabeth Pitt Evans.

He is survived by 2 sons John O. Evans (Ann) of Franklin, KY. and Joe Lloyd Evans (Becky Duncan Evans) of Hermitage, TN.;  4 grandchildren Robbie Ann Cothern (Jeff), Tammie Carey (Brian), Elizabeth Evans Hagan (Kevin), and Mary Emily Evans;  2 great grandchildren Ashlyn Victoria Carey and Robert Owen Carey.

Mr. Evans was a farmer and a lifetime member of the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and moderator.  He was a Korean Army veteran.  He was treasurer for the Sulphur Spring Cemetery Board for many years.  He was a member of Farm Bureau serving as a past president and board member and a member of KYANA Board of milk producers.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.  The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 AM until funeral service time at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sulphur Spring Cemetery Fund or to the BMDMI (Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International for Ashlyn Carey as she serves as a sojourner missionary in Honduras and may be mailed to 11 Plaza Dr., Hattiesburg, MS   39403.
