C.C. Travelstead

Mr. “C.C.” Travelstead, age 90, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 30th, 2021 at 4:28 PM at his residence in Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 3rd, from 6 AM until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 3rd, at 2:00 PM  at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at McKendree Chapel Church Cemetery in Simpson County, KY with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard. ***FAMILY HAS ASKED THAT GUESTS WEAR MASKS.***

C.C. was born on September 14th, 1931 in Simpson County, KY to the late Carlos Clayton Travelstead, Sr. and the late Mattie Jeanetta “Nettie” Dobbs Travelstead. He is also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife of seventy-one years, Jean (Fowler) Travelstead; a son, Michael Lane Travelstead of Knoxville, TN; a grandson, Christopher Travelstead of Campbellsville, KY; a great-grandson, Ashwyn Travelstead; a brother, L.B. Travelstead (Mary Ann) of Franklin, KY; a siter, Gayle Butler (Charles) of Franklin, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

C.C. was a member of McKendree Chapel Methodist Church in Simpson County, KY. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from International Harvester in Indianapolis, IN. He thoroughly enjoyed wood-working and with his talents, could build anything.
