Bobby Wayne Mayes

Mr. Bobby Wayne Mayes, age 77, of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.

Funeral arrangements are under the Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.  Masonic rites will be held at 7:00 PM Monday.

He was born September 15, 1938 in Simpson Co., KY., to the late Joe Douglas Mayes and the late Elizabeth Welty Mayes.  He was the husband of the late Patricia King Mayes.

He is survived by 3 children Teresa Mayes and Beth Williams (Al) both of Franklin, KY. and Robyn Mayes(Leigh) of Louisville, KY., a sister Marie Pitts (Ronnie) of Franklin, KY. and a brother Tony Mayes(Nancy) of Bowling Green, KY., grandchildren Paul Kelley(Beth), Joshua Wayne Kelley, Hollie Kelley, Caroline Koenig, Julia Koenig and Graham Koenig, great grandchildren Easton, Ellasyn and Carson Kelley and Aiden Kinnaird.

Mr. Mayes was a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church,  and New Salem Masonic Lodge.  He worked with Goldenrod Milk Co., Layne-King Chevrolet and retired from the State Road Department.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday, September 5, 2016 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Tuesday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
