Bobby Joe Forshee

Forshee, Bobby Joe, aka, “PaPaw”, age 84, of Franklin, entered into Heaven September 7, 2023.

(John 14: 2-3).  He was born on Valentine’s Day, 1939 in Simpson County, to parents Lawrence and Willie Richardson Forshee.  While the dates are important, the life lived between the dashes is more significant.  (Col. 3:23)

Outside of his devotion to his wife and family, his relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ, was the most prominent aspect of his life.  He pastored numerous start up and established churches in South Central Kentucky.  Mission trips and jail visitations were an integral part of his ministry.

Days before he entered Hospice, he was asked what topic he would preach, and his strong response was “Jesus is coming back!”.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly Trimble Forshee, son, Jeff (Bethany) Forshee, daughters Denise (Gregg) Groves and Rhonda (Carmon) Teachey; grandchildren Rachel and Samuel Forshee, Heather (Jonathan) Truelove, Lindsey Sampson, Jesse Groves, Abigail (Zack) Schaberg and Jordan Teachey; great-grandchildren, Addie Groves, Marley Truelove, Kingston Truelove, Zylar and Koda Sampson, Embriella, Hensliee and Harper Groves; a brother, Jerry (Tracey) Forshee, sister-in-law Catherine Forshee and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 3:00 with Bro. John Rushing, Bro. Carl Fruedenthal and Bro. Weston Smith officiating.  Visitation and services will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin with visitation from 1:00 until start of service.

Active pallbearers will be Bryan Forshee, Samuel Forshee, Jesse Groves, Barry Richardson, Chris Richardson and Carmon Teachey.

Interment will follow in Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
