Billy Ray Bryant

Mr. Billy R. Bryant, age 71, of Franklin, KY, "went to be with Jesus", on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Greenwood Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, KY after a short illness that was cancer related.

Billy is survived by his Loving Wife of 51 years, Shelia Pendley Bryant of Franklin, KY; his youngest son, Jamie L. Bryant, also of Franklin, KY; 1 sister, Mary Eaves Williams of Greenville, KY; and 2 brothers, Wayne Bryant of Echols, KY and Jimmie Bryant of Muhlenberg County, KY.

He is preceded death by his older son, Shawn Bryant and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Bryant of Franklin, KY; and his parents, Marie and Connie Bryant of Powderly, KY.

Billy was born and raised in Muhlenberg County, KY.  He was a 1968 graduate of the Muhlenberg County High School of the Fighting SPARTANS!  He took the Lord into his heart and ask for forgiveness and was baptized in Powderly, KY.

He started his career with Mapco Express Convenient Markets as a Store Manager in Greenville, KY on Hopkinsville Street.  He gradually became a District Manager over the 8 different Mapco Express Markets in the surrounding areas of the KY/TN border near Franklin, KY, Bowling Green, KY, Portland, TN and White House, TN and thus had to move on the outskirts of Franklin, KY to better his career with them for 28 years.  He finally settled on being a good Store Manager of the Portland, TN Mapco Express market for several years.

Billy then decided to become another District Manager over 10 stores in TN called Sudden Service Markets and Truck Stops for many more years before having to retire because of his health.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory and burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.  Visitation will be held the same day, Tuesday, June 14th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory to help with Mr. Bryant's final expenses.
