Bettie June Thrasher

Bettie June Thrasher, 82, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson, KY where she had lived for the past four years.

Bettie June Thrasher was born June 2, 1935 in Portland, Tennessee the daughter of Sam and Ruby Eldridge. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Jackson Thrasher on September 8th, 1957 in Franklin, KY.  He preceded her in death May 12, 1984 . They were married for 26 blissful years.

June attended Western Kentucky Business College and worked in the Dental profession for over 30 years. This included time with the Kentucky Dental Examiner’s office and Dr. Townsell Adams’ office in Lawrenceburg, KY.

Mrs. Thrasher was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She attended Franklin Church of Christ growing up, Lawrenceburg Church of Christ as an adult and most recently Central Church of Christ in Henderson, KY. Some hobbies she enjoyed were bird watching, collecting redbirds and lighthouses, drawing, and creating flower arrangements.

She is survived by her three sons and a daughter in law.  Jeff Thrasher of Greenwood, IN, Jerry Thrasher of Lexington, KY, and Jobee and Cathy Thrasher of Henderson, KY; and three loving grandchildren Clint, Hanna and Logan Thrasher of Henderson, Ky.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Charles Eldridge.

Funeral services and visitation for June will be held on Thursday, December 28th at Gilbert Funeral Home 325 West Cedar Street. Franklin, KY.  Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens, 6324 Nashville Road, Franklin, KY.  The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until funeral service time at 1:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the benevolent funds of Lawrenceburg Church of Christ or Central Church of Christ.
