Mr. Benjamin Lacey Ruley, Jr., age 65, of Portland, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, TN.

Arrangements are under the direction of Austin and Bell Funeral Home, Springfield, TN and Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 15th, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY with burial to follow in Starks Cemetery in Simpson County.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, TN and Sunday, December 15th, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, funeral service time, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY.

Ben was born on December 10th, 1954 in Detroit, MI to the late Benjamin Lacey and Ethel Earline Parks Ruley, SR.  He worked as a plumber, loved fishing, old music, having fun and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Martha P. Harper Ruley of Portland, TN, 5 children, Benjamin Ruley III, Anthony Ruley of Portland, TN, Aaron Ruley of Portland, TN, Kerrie Mears (Terry) of White House, and Kelly Long (John) of Cedar Hill; 5 siblings, Roger Ruley (Linda) of Harbor Springs, MI, Steve Ruley (Teresa) of Deltona, FL, David Ruley (Mackie) of Russellville, KY, Lady Fletcher (Byron) of Petoskey, MI and Iva Ruley of Petroskey, MI; 5 grandchildren, Taylor Orren, Tyler Long, Andrew Ruley, Samantha Ruley and Kennedy Ruley.
