Barbara Rogers Crowder

Ms. Barbara Rogers Crowder, age 72, of Franklin, KY, formerly Athens, AL, passed away on Thursday, August 10th, 2023 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.

Ms. Crowder’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at UMC North Campus on Saturday September 16th at 10 am.

Barbara was born on July 19, 1951 in Columbus, OH, to the late Milton Theodore Rogers and the late Mary “Jane” Seeds Rogers.

Barbara was from Columbus OH, but had lived in Hillard, OH, Athens, OH, Glenn Ellyn, IL, Memphis, TN, Redding, CA, Huntsville, AL and Athens, AL.

She is survived by her son, William “Bill” Crowder (Silvia Iris Faulkner Crowder) of Franklin, KY; 3 grandchildren, Abby, Lillian and Ella Crowder; 4 step grandchildren, Bianca, Alyssa, Sophia and Amelia Faulkner; a brother, George Rogers (Merian); a niece, Alice Rogers Robinson (Jake); 3 nephews, Philip Rogers (Brett), Matthew Rogers and Jayson Rogers.

Barbara was a 1969 graduate of Hilliard High School.  She graduated University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.  She practiced dental hygiene for 30+ years mostly in Lawrenceburg, TN with Warren C. Flemmer, D.D.S.

Barbara attended Friendship UMC North in Elkmont, AL and volunteered/worked at Athens-Limestone Family Resource Center.  A big shout-out to Celebrate Recovery, which played a big part of her life.
