Barbara Jane Coomes

Mrs. Barbara Coomes, age 82 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:57 PM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 PM. Saturday, September 5, 2015 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Simpson Co., Ky. she was the daughter of the late Joseph K. Bunch and the late Lucian and Mayme Biggs Huffines.  She was the wife of the late Morris Coomes. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters Maxine Yokley and Nancy Smith and a brother Jackie Huffines.

She is survived by her daughter Anita Coomes Vantrease (Mike) of Bowling Green, KY., 2 sisters Linda Halbakken of Franklin, KY., Joanne Eldridge of Burr Oak, MI., 5 grandchildren Emmi, Maggie, Jacob, Faith and Pan Vantrease.

Mrs. Coomes was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and Simpson County Homemakers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2015 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Saturday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
