Mrs. Amy Sue Chandler Eldridge, age 74 of Franklin, Ky., entered into rest Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 3:30 PM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Mrs. Eldridge was born April 24, 1941 in Trousdale County, TN.  She was the daughter of the late Jim and Kate Johns Chandler and was preceded in death by brothers Ewell, Clemon, James, Randell Chandler and sisters Doris Hicks and 3 sisters who died at a very early age in a tragic accident, Fayna, Margie and Alice Chandler.

She is survived by her husband of 50+years, Roger Don Eldridge of Franklin, KY.;   2 children, daughter Kelli Susan Eldridge of Birmingham, AL. and son, Coast Guard Senior Chief Petty Officer Kevin Thomas Eldridge (Leslie) and 19 month old grandson Lucas of Mt. Washington, KY.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Eldridge grew up in the Hillsdale-Barnes area of Simpson County and was a 1959 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.  She was a longtime employee of Sullivan’s Dept. Store in Franklin and following marriage she worked at various health care and medical administrative positions in the Southeast.  She was always supportive of her husband’s numerous career moves, having lived all over the Southeast and Midwest, finally returning to her hometown after Roger’s retirement fromWashington, DC in 2007.  She delighted in getting reacquainted with numerous old friends locally.

Amy enjoyed traveling, having toured England in 1998 and taking a 10 day river excursion down the Amazon River & Jungle with daughter Kelli in 2008.

She was a loving mother, compassionate and kind and a big fan of UK basketball.  She delighted in her only grandchild, Lucas.  She was proud of have been a breast cancer survivor in 2000.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, where memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Franklin, KY.

Visitation will begin Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM until funeral service time Sunday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
