Alvin Ronnie Groves

Mr. Alvin Ronnie Groves, age 69 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN.

Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Calvary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens in Franklin, KY.  Military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard.  Masonic rites will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.

A native of Robertson Co., TN. he was born May 30, 1946 to the late Herschell and Earline Stout Groves.  He was preceded in death by a brother Winford Groves and sisters Betty Spivey and Nellie Hackney.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Brown Groves of Franklin, KY. and a son Chad Groves (Lisa) of Bowling Green, KY.;  2 sisters Janice Woodall of Franklin, KY. and Nancy Vaughn of Portland TN. and 2 brothers Melvin Groves of Franklin, KY. and Travis Groves of Portland,  TN.

Mr. Groves was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and retired after 42 years from Berry Plastics and retired from the Simpson County Sheriff’s Dept.  He was a Viet Nam Army veteran and a member of the Simpson Benevolent Masonic Lodge 177, VFW Post 5706, American Legion Post 62 and the Viet Nam Veterans.

Visitation will be begin Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM until 8:30 AM at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.  The body will lie in state at the church from 9:00 AM until funeral service time.
