Alex Payne Smith

Alex Payne Smith, age 26 of Louisville, KY., formerly of Franklin, KY. entered into rest Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2016 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Warren Co., KY., he was the son of Andy Smith and Anita Payne Smith who survive him of Franklin, KY.  He was preceded in death by his uncle Terry Smith.

He is survived by his brother Scott Smith (Amber) of Auburn, KY., maternal grandmother Mary Jo Payne Hendricks of Portland, TN., paternal grandparents Jimmy and Pat Gilmer of Franklin, KY., 2 aunts Alicia Gilmer and Linda Phillips both of Franklin, KY., 2 uncles Larry Payne of Woodburn, KY. and Tim Gilmer of Franklin, KY., niece Chloe Biggs of Franklin, KY., special friend Ariann German of Louisville, KY. and several cousins.

Mr. Smith was a member of Macedonia General Baptist Church and a 2008 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.

Visitation will begin Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM Friday until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
